pneumatic conveying system

Pneumatic Conveying System Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for US plant buyers who need a pneumatic conveying system matched to a named powder, pickup point, receiver and route length. Share quantity, destination, conveying pressure in barg and whether the duty is dense phase, dilute phase or vacuum pickup so we can request comparable factory wholesale quotes. We do not run a conveying shop, hold inventory or sell under a maker appointment.

Resolve procurement unknowns

Known input
Buyer states powder identity, bulk density, particle-size distribution, moisture, abrasion and breakage limits, horizontal distance, elevation, bend count, receiver type, quantity and US destination. Adjacent blowers sold as standalone machines need a separate inquiry.
Supplier confirmation
Each factory restates conveying mode, working pressure in barg, gas velocity in m/s, volume rate in m3/h, connected load in kW, three-phase supply, compressed air demand, footprint in mm and who calculates receiver-filter pressure losses over the full route.

Documents before quotation

Factories cannot price the same pneumatic conveying system when one bidder assumes dilute-phase lean flow and another assumes a dense-phase vessel on a shorter test loop. Put the drawing, duty and missing items on one brief. Receiver and air-system boundaries are recorded in the receiver-scope article.

  • Drawing or process description

Provide a route sketch that names pickup isolation, pipeline diameter, bend count, receiver, filter cleaning method and discharge into the next hopper or mixer. A blowpot outline without duct lengths is incomplete. State whether more than one pickup shares the same air mover.

  • Operating conditions

Record duty cycle (batch or continuous), target throughput with bulk-density basis, indoor or outdoor run, ambient temperature, available compressed air, three-phase supply frequency in Hz and whether the line must changeover between powders without a shared residual.

If bulk density, moisture or a representative sample cannot be sent yet, mark those fields unknown instead of copying a competitor brochure. Missing information is kept visible on the comparison sheet; it is not filled with a percentage saving.

Replacement versus new installation for powder routes

Existing process

Many RFQs replace a mechanical screw or an aging dilute-phase line that already occupies a steel route. Others add vacuum pickup at several process machines. The existing limit is often residual material, filter blinding or product breakage, not a missing brand name on a nameplate.

Write the replacement requirement as the powder quality and transfer rate that must survive the new route, not as a request to copy an unlabeled catalog model.

What powder behavior and particle damage limits define the trial?

What should a buyer confirm when requesting pneumatic conveying system?
  1. Representative sample

Send the powder or granule that will run, including fines fraction, moisture and any additive that changes cohesion. A short laboratory cut that omits recycled fines is not the plant feedstock. Record bulk density and particle-size distribution with the sample lot.

  2. Demonstration

Ask the supplier to run the sample on a documented trial route and to explain the conveying mode, gas velocity in m/s and air consumption on a consistent reference basis. A shorter test loop does not prove a substantially longer plant route unless the scale-up basis is written.

  3. Acceptance record

Compare delivered material quality as well as transfer rate. Note breakage, segregation and residual in pipe after stop. FAT at the factory and SAT at the named receiver remain with the equipment supplier. Spare parts for valves, seals and filter media should appear as included or extra.

Which responsibilities remain with the equipment supplier and buyer?

The buyer owns the process sketch, quantity, destination, optional budget and any material hazard assessment required by the plant. The named supplier sizes air movers, pipeline, receiver filter and pressure losses for the stated route. Pneumatic Conveying System Sourcing coordinates comparable replies; it does not sign FAT, issue a compliance stamp or claim that plants were already audited by this service. Optional budget and high-end, mid-range, budget-friendly or undecided preference only guide search priority.
